Kiss My Aster! Haven't you always wanted to find a way to tell someone off..horticulturally speaking? Well, knowledgeable gardener and woman-about-town, Amanda Thomsen (AKA Kiss My Aster) has written a book that does this and so much more. And, you can win a copy of it! Stay
tuned for more info...and to find out who else is talking about KMA.
Thomsen's book, Kiss My Aster: Creating a Fantastic Yard Totally Tailored to You, is a hilarious, zesty look at beginning landscaping. It is a choose your own ending book that gives readers an opportunity to customize content to fit their needs. Thomsen fills it with her personality, making it entertainingly off-kilter. It's completely illustrated (think graphic novel) and filled with easy to follow instructions. I wrote a (fantastic) review of it in this issue of intoGardens.
But I'm not the only one reviewing Amanda's book. In addition to rave reviews in Publisher's Weekly, The Chicago Times, et al, we have a book blog tour featuring reviews from the following:
Laura Thomas at the Dandelion Wrangler
Niki Jabbour at The Year Round Veggie Gardener
Carolyn Binder at Cowlick Cottage Farm
Jenny Peterson at J Peterson Garden Design
Rebecca Sweet at Gossip in the Garden
Amanda Thomsen at Kiss My Aster (for an inside scoop on the author)
And, Paul Riddell at Texas Triffid Ranch wrote a fantastic review in January that actually contains the words" Mongolian Fighting Dinosaurs." Now, if that doesn't make you want to read it, I don't know what will.
Now on to the winning...it's very easy to do. Just head over to the Storey blog any time between February 18 and the 24th and leave a comment on this post that contains a method for reaching you. We will choose a winner randomly and announce it on Monday, February 25, 2013.
